Festival Cantus 2011 in Salzburg

Our festivals Cantus Salisburgensis Spring Festival, Cantus Salisburgensis Summer Festival and Magic Mozart Festival are well attended. All Festivals take place in Salzburg - birthplace of W.A. Mozart.

No matter if you plan a performance trip as a youth, adult or church choir, band, orchestra or music ensemble we can arrange for your group a custom made tour. Also FIT travellers are very welcome.

Spring Festival Cantus in Salzburg

7TH JULY
ARRIVAL IN SALZBURG AIRPORT - HOTEL
Arrival in Salzburg. Check Into your accommodation.
The International Choir and Orchestra Festival Cantus Salisburgensis 2011 in one of Salzburg beautiful churches. Each group is asked to prepare 1 piece for this opening ceremony.
After the service meeting of all participants for a dinner ( Fingerfood party ; Ice-water is free. All other beverages have to be paid. ) Organizational meeting of the conductors. Please come with your organization assistant, but not more than 3 persons.
8TH JULY
CONCERT OF THE NATIONS MOZARTEUM GREAT HALL
Morning Breakfast. Morning and afternoon rehearsals of the individual groups for the evening concert. Each group is requested to prepare a program of secular or folk music of not more than 12 minutes. Compulsory pieces will be sung by all at the beginning and at the end of the concert.
Built 1910-1914 by Richard Berndl for the "Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum" [International Mozarteum Foundation]. The complex contains two concert halls, the "Bibliotheca Mozartiana" library, administrative rooms, and class rooms used by the "Universitt Mozarteum". "Groer Saal" [Large Hall] with 807 seats.
Concert: end approx. 10.30 PM and at evening; Dinner at accommodation or at a local restaurant. Please note: City tour with English speaking licensed guide will be organized accordingly to your rehearsal time for the festival concert. During the city tour you will be exploring: Mozart's Birth house, Mirabell Gardens, Cathedral
9TH JULY
A FIREWORK OF CHORAL AND ORCHESTRA MUSIC
Morning breakfast. Then each group performs a 40 minute concert of their own choice.
At the Evening rehearsal of Sunday morning mass under the direction of the music director of Salzburg Cathedral - Prof. Janos Czifra.
10TH JULY
HIGH MASS SALZBURG CATHEDRAL

At 9 am warm up, 10 am: Festival Mass in Salzburg Cathedral. Afternoon: Explore the world of the "white gold" at Salzburg's Salt mines visit the salt mine of Hallein, where already Celtic tribes have mined. Salt has been the most important source of income for the Salzburg Prince-Archbishops. The collection of the Keltenmuseum in Hallein unveils the importance with arte-facts from the Celtic period to the Habsburgs. Slide down with great fun, take a boat on the salt lake and explore some other. Evening: the CANTUS SALISBURGENSIS Ceremony fare well party

Morning breakfast at your hotel. Check out and drive to Salzburg airport or to Munich Airport and fly back to your home country.
