Kathmandu and overland to Tibet package is designed to explorer culture and nature adventure of Nepal and Tibet. Those splendours 10days during your trip to Nepal and Tibet is a discovery mysterious, enhancing and remote lands those were virtually cut off from the rest of humanity until very recently like; lands inhabited by gentle, friendly and pious Buddhist who have been moulded by the often harsh and unforgiving climactic and geographical conditions. The tour is designed specially to explorer an adventure and spiritual journey to both countries. During the tours, you will see before your very eyes highest mountain of the world Mt. Everest 8,848 and the range of glory Himalayas as you climb winding roads and by pass the mountain passes. The itinerary includes to explorer the nature beauty and historical sites of Kathmandu which include Durbar Square, Swayamabhunath stupa, Boudhnath the UNESCO World Heritage site, the most famous and holy Hindu temple Pashupatinath. Similarly, in Tibet after a dramatic drive we will meet the Zhangmu featuring an astonishing number of switchback along steep mountain roads, Tingri where you can enjoy the stunning views of four of six highest mountains of the world; Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho Oyu and of course highest mountain in the mountain Mt. Everest standing at 8,845 meter. Further, we will have the stop at Shigatse and explore the historic Sakya Monastery en route and the Tashilumpho Monastery in the city as well as exploring Tibet’s second city with a guided tour. Our next stop would be in Gyantse at the Shalu Monastery to admire frescoes before continuing to Gyantse’s Kumbum Monastery, Palkhor Chode Temple and the dzong fortress. Finally, we will reach the capital of Tibet where we will be exploring Lhasa for three days. During the tours in Lhasa we will visit Jokhang Temple, Sera Monastery, Barkhor Market, Drepung Monastery and most famous Potala Palace. Below is our pre-designed itinerary. ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU

Welcome in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Our team will be waiting for your arrival, meet and greet by Laser Travel and Tours team and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. Check-in at your hotel and remaining day you have at your own leisure, whether staying at the hotel to relax and acclimatize or exploring the Kathmandu valley at your own pace.

1ST DAY

DURBAR SQUARE, SWAYAMBHUNATH, BOUDHNATH & PASUPATINATH

Enjoy your breakfast at hotel. Around 9 AM our team will pick you up from your hotel and take you to explore at main sights and attraction of beautiful Kathmandu valley. Your tours will be followed by Kathmandu Durbar Square which is also know as Basantapur, where you will be discovering the stunning architectural heritage of the Kathmandu city’s heart. You will also visit probably the most famous attraction of Kumari bahal, where the Royal Kumari (the city’s living goddess) is residing. The main courtyard of this three-storey redbrick palace features ornate carved balconies. Your sightseeing tours will continue to the nearby former Royal Palace, which also features an elaborate display of beautiful carvings. The 14th century Jagannath Mandir is the oldest temple in the area and has steps carved with inscriptions in many languages and pillars with rather racy carvings. Then, further to the pagoda-style Taleju Mandir, which is dedicated to the patron deity of the royal family. After then, you will visit the most ancient and enigmatic of the valley’s holy shrines golden-spired stupa “Swayambhunath” which is also well known as Monkey temple, which sits atop a wooded hill in the west of the city and boasts dramatic views over the Kathmandu valley. Then, we will drive further to visit Boudhanath stupa which is one of the holiest and World’s heritage Buddhist site. After finishing Boudhnath we will continue our sightseeing to another holy Hindu temple, popularly known as Pasupatinath situated at bank of Bagmati river. Finally, we will drive back to hotel and rest. Overnight in Kathmandu.

2ND DAY

KATHMANDU—ZANGMU ( 123KM—APPX 6 HOURS )

Have your breakfast early morning in your hotel and check out then get ready to start what promises to be an unforgettable journey to highland. You will be heading north-east towards the border crossing Kodari, 117 km drive that takes about five hours. Experience awesome raw beauty of the Nepalese countryside as you climb to about 2,300 meters above sea level, passing through verdant valleys and white-water rivers. Once immigration and customs formalities have been completed at immigration of Nepal, you will walk through the famous friendship bridge which is connected to the China. Right after crossing the bridge our Tibet team will be waiting for your to welcome in Tibet. After passing the immigration of China, we will drive towards Zhangmu, reaching it after a series of incredibly steep switchbacks that make a 6km journey take some 30 minutes. The earthy frontier town of Zhangmu appears to sprawl precariously half-way up a steep slope in the valley of River Bhote Koshi where you will explorer the colorful buildings contrasting with the dense dark green forests of the mountain. We recommend you to take a walk steep hill till the end of Zhangmu town for good acclimatization and return to hotel. Overnight in Zangmu.

3RD DAY

ZANGMU – TINGRI ( 240KM – APPX 5 HOURS DRIVE )

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Today, our tours will be followed by another level along the Friendship Highway which shall be more than double elevation above the sea level as we will be climbing from 2300 meter of Zhangmu to attitude of 5150 meter at the Thong La Pass. The day offers an epic journey with breath-taking views of world’s highest peaks such as Mt. Shishapangma (8,013 meters), Mt. Makalu ( 8,464 meter), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 meter) , Mt. Cho Oyu ( 8,201 meter) and most imperious Mt. Everest standing at 8,848 meter just front of you to touch the heaven. We will descend our journey from this point with the highway to Tingri at altitude of 4,300 meter. The Tingri was an important trading post point in the past and throwback to another era with beasts to burdon and fluttering Buddhist prayer flags adding the pastoral atmosphere. In Tingri, if the local weather conditions are favouring, we will embark on an easy hike to a hill that offers a magnificent vista of the snow-capped north face of Everest. Rest the evening and overnight at Tingri.

4TH DAY

TINGRI – SHIGATSE (360KM – APPX 6 HOURS DRIVE)

Have your breakfast at your hotel in Tingri. After breakfast, we will continue our journey to Shigaste taking the Friendship highway throughout the Tibetan plateau, framed by distance distant snow-capped peaks, passing through remote town such as Lhatse and dramatic mountain passes like Gyatso La, which is 5,220 metres above sea level. Our drive continues main high way of famous Shakya Monastery for a fascinating visit of this historic retreat, which dates from the 11th century. The sands of time have taken their toll but behind the imposing ramparts it retains enough charm and colour to captivate visitors, with the oversize prayer wheels a popular photo subject. Continue to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet and situated 3,900 metres above sea level. Shigatse is dominated by the Dzong Palace, which guards over the city from the crown of a large hill. This Palace is residence of Panchen Lama, however the tourist are not permitted to visit the palace unfortunately. We will reach the Shigatse and overnight.

5TH DAY

SHIGATSE – GYANTSE (90KM – APPX 2 HOURS )

Enjoy your breakfast at your hotel and we will proceed for the sightseeing of Tashilumpho Monastery which hides 39 beguiling chapels behind its high walls. You will be enjoying to explorer; a huge gold-coated Maitreya Chapel and en route after the 22km, we will visit the thousand year old Shalu Monastery which was once one of the most prestigious monasteries for scholarly learning. It boasts some priceless frescoes of the Lord Buddha and mandalas in the chapels. Then, we will continueour drive to Gyantse, a historic Nyang Chu valley town nestling at the foot of a walled fortress (dzong) dating from the 14th century. You will experience this picturesque town, which despite the march of time has preserved a number of traditional dwellings. Check-in at hotel in Gyantse and overnight.

6TH DAY

GYANTSE – LHASA (265KM – APPX 5 HOURS)

Today after the breakfast, we will visit to the Kumbum Monastery and Palkhor Chode Temple complex. This is the Kumbum’s large golden-domed stupa, the most revered in Tibet which immediately catches in your eye and it houses in many small chapels decorated with an impressive array of Tibetan Buddhist murals. Kumbum means ‘100,000 holy images’ and while the actual figures involved aren’t anywhere as large, they are nonetheless impressive as the nine-storied stupa is built in the style of a 108-sided mandala and houses 112 chapels within (though just 23 are open to the public). You can walk along the pathway flanked by golden prayer wheels that lead to the temple, and feel the spirituality that permeates this holy site, which is home to about 30 monks from three sects. Optional visit of Gyantse Fort (Dzong), historically significant and now a ruined museum, it is currently under renovation. Enjoy the panoramic views over the city and valley balcony of the fort. After lunch, drive towards Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, passing through the 5,045 metre Karo La pass. Today’s journey takes in some spectacular scenery with a stop along the way to savour the views of the sacred Lake Yamdrok also known as the Turquoise Lake and the 7,191 metre Mount Noijin Kangsang, whose snow-capped summit rises majestically behind the lake. Driving further 4,970 metre Khamba La pass before crossing the River Brahmaputra (Yarlung Tsangpo) which is to the south-east of the capital. Finally, reaching we will reach Lhasa, check in and overnight in hotel

7TH DAY

JOKHANG TEMPLE, - BARKHOR BAZAR & SERA MONASTERIES

Morning breakfast at your hotel. Then our representative will pick you up from hotel and take you to explore the Jokhang Temple. This temple is the most revered shrine in all of Tibet and is constantly bustling with devout worshippers. During the sightseeing you will also have an opportunity to shop for your Tibetan souvenirs in Barkhor Bazar, the crowded central market of Lhasa. In the afternoon we will visit is Sera Monastery, a fifteenth century sprawl of golden roofs and whitewashed walls. This well preserved monastery is located just a few miles North of Lhasa and is home to several hundred monks. its famous debating activities are happening 3-4pm quite regularly every day, so remind with our guide not to miss it.

8TH DAY

POTALA PALACE AND DREPUNG MONASTERY

Enjoy your morning breakfast. We have scheduled your daily activities without any pressure as you are landing in highland of 3,680 meter. You need to have acclimatization as your daily sightseeing and overnight would be more in higher and higher altitude in next days. So as longest you acclimatize yourself in Lhasa you would be having comfort travel in next days. A trip to Tibet would not be complete without experiencing the vital Potala Palace. This palace is Lhasa ‘s cardinal landmark and is a wonder of Eastern architecture. Your first site of this massive structure will be a magical moment remembered for years to come. It has been a palace since the fifth or sixth century and was once home to the Dalai Lama. This truly amazing day will ended with a visit to the Drepung Monastery . Once the world’s largest monastery, housing 10,000 monks, Drepung monastery lies hidden in rocky ridges just beyond the city. Surprisingly much of the building was left untouched throughout so many hundreds of years. Relax the remaining day and overnight in Lhasa.

9TH DAY

LHASA—GONGKAR AIRPORT (65KM – 1 HOUR)

Enjoy your breakfast at your hotel in Lhasa. After the breakfast we will transfer to Gongkar Airport or to the train station in Lhasa to have your further journey to home country or else back to Kathmandu.

You need to have acclimatization as your daily sightseeing and overnight would be more in higher and higher altitude in next days. So as longest you acclimatize yourself in Lhasa you would be having comfort travel in next days. A trip to Tibet would not be complete without experiencing the vital Potala Palace. This palace is Lhasa ‘s cardinal landmark and is a wonder of Eastern architecture. Your first site of this massive structure will be a magical moment remembered for years to come. It has been a palace since the fifth or sixth century and was once home to the Dalai Lama. This truly amazing day will ended with a visit to the Drepung Monastery . Once the world’s largest monastery, housing 10,000 monks, Drepung monastery lies hidden in rocky ridges just beyond the city. Surprisingly much of the building was left untouched throughout so many hundreds of years. Relax the remaining day and overnight in Lhasa.

LHASA—GONGKAR AIRPORT (65KM – 1 HOUR)

Enjoy your breakfast at your hotel in Lhasa. After the breakfast we will transfer to Gongkar Airport or to the train station in Lhasa to have your further journey to home country or else back to Kathmandu.
